*** Installation ***

If you have downloaded this file to your hard drive, we recommend that
you copy the SETUP.EXE file to a 'temporary' subdirectory. Once the
installation is complete, you can then go back and delete the SETUP.EXE
file from the temporary subdirectory.

WINDOWS 3.x -- activate the Program Manager, select Run from the File
menu, select the BROWSE button, and navigate to the drive/directory that
contains the SETUP.EXE file. Highlight the SETUP.EXE file and click the
OK button, then click the OK button in the next window, and follow the
prompts.

WINDOWS 95 -- activate the Start menu, select the Run option, select the
BROWSE button, and navigate to the drive/directory that contains the
SETUP.EXE file. Highlight the SETUP.EXE file and click the OK button,
then click the OK button in the next window, and follow the prompts.

*** Requirements ***

MusicEase is a 32-bit application, which normally means that Windows 95
or Windows NT is required. However, this program will run under
Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11 *IF* the Microsoft
32-bit extensions have been installed (see WIN32S.TXT for details).

In addition to the above, MusicEase also requires at least
12Mb of RAM memory.

*** Documentation ***

For full documentation, select Help from the Menubar while running
MusicEase.

*** Scores from Previous Versions ***

Scores created by DOS versions of MusicEase can be imported into this
Windows version. However, they must first be converted using the DOS
program MECONVRT.EXE which resides in the MusicEase directory. This
program must be run from DOS. It prompts for the name of the original
file and the result file (the same filename can be used for both). The
result file can then be loaded into this Windows version of MusicEase.
(If you have a problem loading scores created by versions of MusicEase
earlier than 4.0, first load them into MusicEase 4.xx and save them,
and then use MECONVRT.EXE to convert them.)
